Today, we celebrate International Youth Day and young people’s power to create positive change. This year’s theme centers on “green skills for youth towards a sustainable world.”
To build a greener world, we all must have green skills, defined as the “knowledge, abilities, values, and attitudes needed to thrive in, cultivate, and bolster a sustainable and resource- efficient society.” But instead of creating a more sustainable future for youth, let’s give young people the tools they need to build it with us.
This journey towards an environmentally sustainable and climate-resilient world is essential, not only for addressing the global climate crisis but also for reaching the ambitious targets outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Our health is intricately linked to the health of our planet. A360 works to give young people the tools needed to take charge of their lives and achieve their goals, which is only possible if their environments are safe and sustainable. At PSI we help make health systems more resilient to climate shocks and elevate the voices working to build a healthier, greener future for themselves and their communities.
We engaged with our Youth Innovation Champions and Officers in Kenya, Ethiopia, and Nigeria to gain insights into what a greener future means to them as young individuals working to improve Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH).
Here’s what they shared!
