IMplementation tools

If you’re looking for useful insights and tools — with a dose of radical transparency — you’re in the right place!

Below we’ve compiled some of our favorite design, implementation and evaluation tools – the true telling of our A360 experience, inspired by the conviction that our global community will get further faster by sharing what we learn. We’re not interested in sitting on secrets. We’ve pulled together our favorite resources and stories of our trials, failures, and wins to share with you.

adaptive implementation

Global evidence is clear – interventions benefit from ongoing continuous quality improvement during implementation to refine and strengthen them in response to changing contexts and emerging opportunities. Design creates an incubator for positive outcomes, but interventions can never be “optimized” prior to implementation in an actual, real-world setting.

Adaptive implementation is a tool which applies routine analysis of mixed methods performance and evaluation data within a multi-disciplinary team to identify opportunities for rapid iteration, adaptation, and course correction within the context of routine implementation.

Human Centered Design (HCD)

HCD can help teams better understand the people they’re designing for, have more effective brainstorming, prototype ideas, and ultimately arrive at more creative solutions. The following resources can help teams to consider the process they’ll use to integrate critical perspectives, evidence, and approaches from a variety of fields of thought.

ASRH Service Delivery

A360 is more than a service delivery program – we exist to support health systems to be more responsive to the unique needs of adolescent girls and to generate evidence and learning others can utilise. And as we learn, our thinking evolves. Join us as we explore how to measure the service delivery component of an adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASRH) intervention effectively and accurately.

Meaningful Adolescent and Youth Engagement

By better understanding the adolescent experience through meaningful partnerships, we are hopeful that we can gain critical insights into how health systems might better reach and serve adolescents. Leading with MAYE, A360 strives to enable young people to take full and engaged ownership over their sexual and reproductive health and their lives.

The Case of A360

With an emphasis on continuous project learning core to our programming, we’ve compiled a series of technical publications – contributing to the global evidence base on the importance of girl-centered programming and full of learnings ripe for replication.
