Dr. Rahel is an experienced Obstetrician and Gynecologist and a public health specialist with more than 15 years of experience in clinical work, leadership and research.
Before becoming the Director of the SRH program at PSIE, she has served as a faculty in multiple medical universities in Ethiopia, teaching and mentoring undergraduate and post-graduate medical students, delivering clinical work and has published several research in local and international journals. She has also presented her research work at multiple international conferences. She has successfully led several projects in SRH, maternal and newborn health.
She is the Honorary Secretary of the Ethiopian Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and is a fellow of the East, Central and Southern African College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
She holds a medical degree, a specialty in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a master’s degree in public health.
Dr. Rahel enjoys travelling and engaging in social endeavors.
